Terms of Service
The plain-language agreement for using helg. By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
Last updated October 7, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and helg, inc. (“helg,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of our website, web app, and related services (the “Service”). If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree on its behalf.
The Service
helg is a shared task manager for a household’s week: you capture tasks as they come up and decide, once a week, what’s worth an hour of it. We offer it on the web. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and able to form a binding contract.
- You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email (we sign you in with magic links).
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe others’ rights using the Service.
- Upload malware, or content you don’t have the right to share.
- Probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service, or bypass rate limits and security controls.
- Reverse-engineer or resell the Service except as the law allows.
- Use the family/shared inbox to harass others or send content you’re not allowed to.
Your content
You own the content you put into helg. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it solely to operate the Service for you and the people you share with. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models. You’re responsible for the content you add and for having the rights to it.
Calendar feed
If you connect the calendar subscription feed, helg gives you a private URL containing a secret token. Anyone with that URL can view the deadlines it exposes, so keep it private. You can reset the link or turn the feed off at any time in You → Calendar feed.
Plans, billing & refunds
- Solo is free. The family plan (“Helg + your people”) is US$14 per month for four seats — 4 people total, including you. Each seat beyond four is US$3.50 per month, up to 12 people in a household, and a pending invitation holds a seat from the moment it is sent. Current prices are on our pricing page.
- The family plan starts with a 14-day trial, and no card is needed to start it. If you subscribe during the trial you keep the days that remain: nothing is charged until the trial ends, and your first payment is taken then.
- Paid plans are priced in US dollars, billed monthly in advance through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. At checkout Stripe may offer to charge you in your local currency, with its own conversion fee; you can choose to pay in US dollars instead.
- You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Taxes may apply.
- We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next billing cycle.
Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. helg is a personal organization tool — it is not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, or financial advice, and we don’t guarantee you’ll never miss a deadline.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, helg will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; we’ll revise the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in New York will have jurisdiction, except where local law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.
