Quiet releases.
We ship small, useful things. No “AI features,” no enterprise plans. Here’s what’s changed.
Helg Community, and Helg on iPhone
Helg Community is a public library of step-by-step tasks written by people who have already done them — renewing a passport abroad, registering a newborn, changing your address after a move. Add one to Helg and it asks the few details that depend on you, then lands in your Inbox as a checklist. Suggest an edit when something has changed.
- The iPhone app is in beta, with a home-screen widget.
- Pick the hour date reminders arrive, and set quiet hours when nothing buzzes.
- Choose who in the household hears that something on the buy list is running low.
The web app, rebuilt
The signed-in app has been rebuilt around a handful of screens: Today, This week, Lists (Inbox, Later, Archive), Buy list, Family, Notifications and You. The weekly review — “triage” in the older notes below — is now called the pass.
- A capture is the name you type, plus an optional detail. Nothing is shortened or summarized for you.
- ⌘K opens search — tasks, steps, the buy list, people — from anywhere in the app. C opens capture.
Web app + softer everything
helg now runs in the browser — three columns, a budget bar, drag. Useful when you’re on a borrowed laptop or a hospital workstation.
- Web app at helg.app — full triage workspace, no install.
- Card chrome relaxed: white surfaces, soft shadows, no hairline borders.
- Staleness ramp re-tuned for lower chroma — drifts quieter.
Start-by dates, shared inbox
For tasks with a long runway, helg now carries both a due date and a start by date on the card, so the one that actually governs is visible. The shared inbox lets the people in your household push tasks to you — with scoped visibility.
- “start by” dates on cards inherit urgency styling at ≤30 days.
- Senders see only what they sent — never the rest of your queue.
- The family inbox is its own tab.
Amnesty prompt + budget bar
We added an opt-in Review affordance to tasks that have been put off four times without being done. The budget bar is now visible at the top of the triage view at all times.
- Amnesty modal: three equal-weight options, no guilt language.
- The hours budget defaults to 11; tunable in settings.
- Over-budget state turns the bar terracotta — never red.
- Punted-counter pills replaced the dot trail.
Private alpha
First closed group. Capture, triage, color-coded staleness ramp. Built for a few residents and a few traders.
